Linear and Angolar Crackmeters

Crackmeters are used to monitor the progress of surface cracks in structural components and buildings caused by subsidence or mechanical failure.
Depending on the type of the lesion to be detected and the position, we can have:
– linear crackmeters
– angolar crackmeters.
They are composed of two transparent acrylic resin plates, overlapping and able to move relative to each other. The movement of the crack can then be read in millimetres by monitoring the displacement of the top plate (cross) relative to the underlying one (grid). Crackmeters have the advantages of being much less costly than other solutions, as well as being easy to install and use.
