MAST-Test Mechanical Acoustic Tester

DRC’s MAST–Test is designed to check for subsidence and displacement of concrete floor slabs. This phenomenon is caused by the partial detachment of the plaster and intrados slabs of the masonry blocks. The test is run by positioning the electromechanical actuator at the top of an extendible rod in contact with the area being inspected.  The actuator is remotely actuated to strike the surface. The piezoelectric microphone connected to the DaTa 500 multifunctional controller, acquires and processes the resulting sound. The controller runs FFT, octave band and one third octave band analyses of the sound in real time. Thanks to its autonomous power unit, the MAST-Test system can be moved freely in the area being inspected without the need for a mains connection.
